father's day 07

Joey's first Father's Day was mellow. Olivia and I gave him a diaper bag vest to use on those long hikes they'll be taking and a book. As you can see, Joey was being a great father like every other day. He's the best. After a big breakfast, we went to see Auntie Maria graduate. Yay, yay! Oh yeah and Olivia has mastered mirroring sticking out her tongue. We'll regret this one day...

We're seeing her first social smiles. We're pretty sure it's not gas. While listening to a little Jamaraquai she kicked, punched, smacked her lips and smiled. The girl has soul!

Celebrating Nana's Birthday

Olivia made her Nana's 39th ;) birthday extra special. We all went to dinner and celebrated having another great year with Mom. Olivia was super-stimulated by all that was going on in the restaurant, Nikole didn't really eat and she learned how to change a poopy diaper in a public bathroom. What a treat!

O's 1st Road Trip to Nana & G-Man's!

Sunday O and Nikole hit the road to Redding. Of course there are no pictures of our departure from the Bay Area...as soon as Olivia was fed and bags were packed, we hightailed it out of San Mateo. Surprisingly, Olivia was a great travel partner! Only 2 stops to address the crying baby. While in Redding, the whole team took turns feeding, entertaining and changing Miss O. She got lots of love and kisses from her grandparents. Nana came back to San Mateo for a few days of Olivia-time. New Friends

Olivia has had many visitors in the past few weeks. Friends have come to greet her and her Aunt Barbie, Uncle Justin and cousin Ava came all the way from LA to say welcome and offer much needed relief. Pictured are just a few of the new friends she's made.

Flashback - Aunties' Shower! March 24th

The Aunties (Caroll Sandifor, Debbra Lindo, Saundra Jones and Jacqui Love Marshall) threw an elegant bash for the parents to be at the Lindo's home in Oakland. Friends and family came from all over to celebrate Olivia's pending arrival. After playing jeopardy and challenging Joey (the novice) and Emir (a dad of two) to dressing a "baby", Nikole and Joey opened gifts from very generous guests. A delicious strawberry and cream cake (Nikole's favorite) followed a salad lunch buffet. Thank you Aunties!

She's One Month Old!

Olivia turned one month old on May 30th. In just four weeks she's started to study faces, stay awake longer than 20 minutes and bring lots of love and cuteness into our home. She now weighs 10 lbs 6 ozs and is 22.5 inches long! Our girl is growing up good.

Flashback - Stanford Shower April 14

Chandra, Maria and Leah hosted a beautiful tea party in honor of Olivia. Many Stanford friends shared meaningful and humorous birth stories while munching on scones and sipping Earl Grey. What a wonderful community of women to bring Olivia into!
