Her grandparents spoiled her properly for a few days in July. Nana and G-man set up a "pool", devised art projects, and fed her plenty of "ch-chen" (chicken).
Olivia has been making animal sounds for months now and we thought it was time she see some real live lions and elephants. She wasn't so impressed, but had a good 15 seconds with each animal before it was time to move on.
Still testing the world through her mouth, Olivia began cruising pretty regularly this month. She's picking up words right and left...flower, turtle, dirty (as in "don't eat that cheerio off of the floor. it's dirty").
What started as a small get-together in the park turned into a pretty big celebration of Olivia's 1st year. Lots of friends came to paint, play, and eat in honor of Ladybug's birthday.
Many firsts during our weeklong vacation in Hawai'i. First time in the pool, feeling sand, seeing and experiencing waves, pooping in a pool, at a luau, eating cake... We had a great time with Nana, G-man, Auntie Cheryl, Uncle Were, Theo, Elan and Clara (Olivia's favorite big girl).
Olivia loves her books and the laptop. She met her cousin Sienna from Japan and spent fun filled days with Nana while I recuperated from after surgery. She started crawling and helped us to speed up the childproofing endeavor. And she attended her first tea!
